Just one week to go until the Tastes of Yorkshire food festival at Ripon. The main attraction will be the Gourmet Market, featuring around 50 stalls selling the very best of local Yorkshire produce. You can also enjoy hot food during the day on the bandstand lawn, taking in the beautiful racecourse venue and listening to our Jazz band. Hambleton Ales will be running a Beer Festival, with around 20 ales from local, independent brewers on offer.
As well as all this, we will have a demonstration stage where renowned local celebrity chefs Stephanie Moon, consultant chef to Rudding Park, and Andrew Pern from the Star Inn at Harome, both of whom competed in the Great British Menu, and Paul Jackson from the Crown Inn at Great Ouseburn, will be showing off their talent. We will also have chocolatier Sophie Jewett from York Cocoa House showcasing her Yorkshire Chocolate Collection, and the 21 Engineer Regiment will be doing a field catering demonstration.
To make sure that the whole family can get involved, we have children’s cookery workshops running throughout the day, including pizza making with The Pizza Farm who will also have Rover Range there providing freshly prepared and baked Pizzas for all to enjoy. Also there will be the York Cocoa House Chocolate Factory. For the adults, we have grown-up’s chocolate making workshops, also run by York Cocoa House. With great food, great beer and a great atmosphere, it will be the perfect family day out! See you there.
